Homeschooling? Public School? Private School? It’s Okay To Look At All The Options

I know many homeschoolers who homeschool all the way until high school graduation or only in the primary years. For us, we homeschool in the younger years and then look at each child individually to see if they will be going to public school or continue to homeschool. For our family in the 2022-2023 school year, all my kids will be homeschooled. But, I will be honest and say we heavily thought about sending my oldest to public school. My oldest is special needs and would either need one on one (an aide) or a very small class setting. The reason we decided to continue to homeschool is because we have a lot of life changing events happening this summer. We will be moving and we will be adjusting to only having me around for a whole year. It’s going to be hard on my kids and we wanted to keep our children close while we adapt.
I am writing this post because I want you to know it’s okay to look at your children and find the right education setting that benefits them. There are many reasons a family might homeschool some of their children, but not all. It could be for many reasons like in person services or the Childs preference. Homeschooling is supposed to beneficial and exciting. I hope this helps you make the right decision for your family and children. I want you to know as a homeschool mom, it’s okay to send your children to public or private school. It doesn’t make you less of a parent. Have a great Thursday.
